Work Problems In Ohio

Card image cap

So I've been with this company now for over a year, when i first started I wasn't allowed to tour the place I would be working until my first official day on the clock which I thought was weird. Long story short I work for a construction company and they have a buildings everyone works from, 4 altogether. So come to find out that I have to work in a building all by myself doing a job that is quite stressful and dangerous. I brought up some safety issues in the beginning and most of them pointed to the what if I hurt myself and no one is around to help. The companies solution to this problem was installing a camera and giving me a life alert button that I'm suppose to wear around my neck........lmao still love that one! Anywho.....about a month after receiving my life saving button, we were in a company meeting and it was brought up by the VP of Operations that no one in the company is allowed to work by themselves, of you were caught in a building by yourself working then you would be punished up to termination. I asked how can that be a "rule" but not followed by my building. I was told that my situation is different and I basically needed to either accept my job for what it is or hit the road. I'm just wondering how in the hell this could be? There is over 100+ employees in this company and no on is allowed to work by themselves except me!? WTF!!?? Also note that I am just a regular employee with no boss or supervisor status yet I work in my own building under no supervision. I have 2 supposed bosses over me but they come out maybe once a month and run my department by myself without any recognition or the bonuses that come with it, those all go to the people above me who don't know a single thing about what I do. So I'm curious, God forbid I get hurt out here by myself but if it does happen, what should I do? And I'm also wanting to try to get them to understand how much b.s. this rule is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
