What Does A Restraining Order Effect In Your Life?

Yesterday I was served a restraining order against me from my ex out of nowhere. In 2 days it will be one year since we broke up and the incident on the restraining order is from that day. We got into an argument and at some point she hit me in the face then I grabbed her and threw her down and held her down for a few seconds while screaming at her not to lay her hands on me. She states in the report that I proceeded to retrieve a gun and she had to get it away from me, but completely leaves out the fact that I was suicidal from the emotional distress of hurting her and not homicidal. She knows this and intentionally left it off the report to make me seem more dangerous. She also states that I have continued to harass her online with fake social media accounts, which is a complete lie.
First of all, considering that she assaulted me first and the incident is from a year ago is this restraining order even right to give me by the court? Is something like this going to effect my ability to get a job someplace? If it does is it something that is reverselable? Should I file a restraining order in return?
