Went Out Of Town For Job Interview, Ex Broke Up With Me While I Was Gone. Texted Her Two Weeks After Breakup To Ask When I Can Pick Up Belongings. She Said She Prefers No Contact And Would Send My Stuff To My Parents House. I Didn’t Receive All My Things
I told her I would prefer to pack up my belongings myself but she would not budge so I agreed to just have her have someone drop off my stuff like she asked to avoid more drama. Well, I didn’t receive all my belongings back and now she is not responding to any texts or calls. She apparently moved out of the apartment so I’m unsure how to contact her at all or where the rest of my stuff is. My stuff is around $400+ but some effect my side business and will have to take a loss and some are sentimental items to me. How do I proceed?
I was thinking about small claims court but now that I have a new job, I don’t think I will be able to go back to the town we lived in and go back to court. I certainly don’t want this to effect my new job, but I would really like to have my belongings back.
Edit: I am in California. I was living in San Diego but now live in Northern California.
