Update: Sexually Assaulted By Client

This is an update from a previous post and a HUGE thank you to all comments, upvotes and most importantly genuine sentiments of support and advice on how to move forward.

Without you, I would never have been able to develop the courage, focus and conviction in my developments in the last few days.

Details of the previous post can be found at https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/s/e4BchhfhDj

3 days ago in the evening I contacted my line manager by text initially to say I needed to contact him urgently regarding a sexual assault, then by a follow-up phone, to explain that I'd been assaulted by the site planner at a party. Our conversation was a very brief summary, lacking in graphic details, but substantial enough to know that action would need to be taken. He explained that although the circumstances sounded weird, he has never dealt with such an allegation before and would look into escalating this by liaising with our CEO for advice and by-passing as many people in our company to minimise rumours/gossip. He was very sensitive to my trauma and at no point did he pass any judgement or frustration about me drinking alcohol with the technicians.

The following day, whilst working out on the field, I received a follow up call from my manager explaining that he had been in communication with the COO of our client and they took the allegation very seriously.

The COO had requested some details to be provided in writing and informed my manager that the site planner would be removed from the work site that evening and requested to attend an interview at their Head office.

Oddly enough, before hearing of the job title of the accused, the COO asked "Was it [correct name]?". At this point my line manager didn't know and had to request the accused's name from me, to confirm this with the COO of the client. This says to me there's been suspicions before, of untoward behaviour.

Unfortunately for me, it was a busy day, the internet cut out at sea and I was unable to commence my written statement until 8pm after arriving back in port, this was too late for the client to begin taking action by relocation of the accused. So all plans were postponed by 24 hours.

That evening, I wrote an incredibly detailed account of the entire evening in question. It took 3 hours but I was very happy with it.

I was terrified of retaliation from the accused fearing he'd smell a rat re: interview, and target me with violence before leaving. I voiced these concerns in my emailed statement.

Anyway, long story short, the emailed statement was sent, I got moved to a safe house tonight. A hotel in the countryside. The accused and 3 others (unsure why 3 others) have been taken to the head office in Germany. A full in-house investigation will be conducted by the client.

I've been able to file a police report from the safety of the hotel tonight and in about 3 hours time I can return to my vessel to work another day without being in the vicinity of my sexual abuser.

I could not imagine being where I am now, 3 days ago.

Thank you so much for all your support on my original post.

My company and the clients company have acted so well on this matter and I am confident that I may have begun a pathway that will remove a sexual predator from the workplace and general public.

I couldn't have done it without this sub. Thank you thank you thank you ????
