Took Photos Of Pets To Send To Families While Pet Sitting; Can I Use The Photos In A Book I'm Writing?

I started a pet sitting business back in 2011 when my phone was an iPhone 4; as I upgraded phones over the years, the pics I sent to folks started getting better to where some were fun or interesting, and families started to comment on that fact. I never intended to do anything commercial with photos of pets I cared for so never had anyone sign a release even for use as a social media post and even wrestled with the morality of the idea (since I develop deep bonds with these pets, some of whom have already passed).

The book would be informational/nonfiction and the pics used mainly in a humorous context throughout. I live in Utah.
