Someone Showed Up At My Parent's House To Try And Serve Me Papers
so this is in the state of California my brother who is 2 hours away from me called me and said someone showed up at my parent's house looking for me to give me papers, I haven't been in any legal trouble in my life other than like a speeding ticket and some parking tickets that are already paid for. I am a college student and I live away from home to be closer to school, I tried to look in the county where my parents live through the court website to see if I have any cases in my name and I don't have anything I'm just trying to see why I'm being sued because when doing my own research and seeing if I can find out on my own way, I saw that if I don't response in a certain amount of time I will be getting sued? I'm not sure but I have a clean record and haven't been in any kind of trouble so I came here to see if anyone can help. also, I did try talking to a lawyer and they told me they can't help me unless I know the reason why I'm getting served.
