Small Claims Court - Columbia S. Carolina

I apologize up front if this is not an appropriate post. Feel free to take down if not. But briefly, just looking for information and opinions whether it is appropriate to take a certain company to small claims court. Here is a summary of the case.
Wife and I purchased new home in 2020. Remodeled it, and one of the things we remodeled was we replaced the front door. Not any door. Specially made for our home, French-style, imported, old frame needed to be ripped out, etc. $15,000 door along with the work to install it.
Immediately after installation, which occurred DEC 2022, there were cracks in the door and the top coat of finish apparently did not get put on. We opted to finish with the installation and have things finished while it was installed. That was the recommendation by the company. Taking it back to the shop to have things fixed would have left a gaping hole in our home until it could be completed b/c the whole frame needed to be changed to accommodate the new door.
Fast-forward until now, surprise, surprise, they have not come back to complete the job. I have pictures, texts, etc. of literally dozens of texts reaching out to them. They respond, and agree the door needs fixing. I literally have an audio recording of them admitting to the mistake, agreeing it needs to be fixed, but time after time and excuse and excuse still have not come back and fixed it.
We have sustained no structural or other direct, damage to or home. I will be claiming approx. 2,500 because the door is faulty (cracks, no top coat) and it will take me at least that much if not more to find someone to fix the door.
My question is if I have a case. I have never done anything like this before. I will be handling the case myself. Thoughts?
Thank you in advance.
