Should I Seek Small Claims Court?
Location: Kentucky Incident location: Texas So last year I was shopping around for tattoo artists (messaging potential artists) who were willing to do 2 tattoos for $600 with tip.
I explained the tattoos and provided inspiration images for the tattoos I wanted, if the artist declined i went to find a different artist.
Finally I found one who agreed to do both for the specified amount. I get to the spot with my mother,(so there is a witness) me and the artist spoke about the tattoos and how to achieve the looks I want. He completes one tattoo, I pay and stated we will be back tomorrow to complete the second one.
The next day I message him asking if I could come earlier stating im not sure how early since there was traffic but I will let him know. As we got closer and closer traffic got worse pushing the time back so I messaged him letting him know we will keep our original time (no response). When we arrived to the spot I messaged him letting him know we have arrived. He said he came early (an hour early) waiting on us then left and now his car is not starting. So I asked for my $200 back so that I could get someone else to do the second tattoo since he wasn't willing to come to complete the tattoo. He refused stating that my first tattoo costs the $600 anyway then proceeds to block me. After I'm explaining to him that, that wasn't the deal we agreed on (with receipts) at the beginning before we started this process.
This experience was to honor my late best friend because she was supposed to come with me to get the first tattoo but lost her life before we got the chance so the second one was a memorial tattoo for her only to be taken from me by greed.
Thank you in advance for the responses.
