Should I Have..

Card image cap

Was back in 2020, i was serving at a place that i actually still work at. We serve "Alaskan Soup" which is a small cast iron pot which has the soup in it that is brought to a boil then set in the window and served. Turning a corner, another server had the freshly made soup on a tray, we collided and the soup covered my collarbone/neck/chest area. Ended up off of work for 2 months, was prepped and being wheeled in for a skin graph (ended up not being done because the spot was "healing abnormally well") was given the choice to not have it done and chose not to. Work did pay for everything medically, and got a few hundred a week i think i recall since serving wage $3.67/hr plus tips. I signed things that i assume gave away any "rights" i might have had to go after anything more. At the time my partner and i felt and still do feel that it is messed up that it happened and maybe we could have pursued legal action; but it didnt feel "right" and ultimately as i ask this im not really any more worse off than i may have been had it not happened. We both felt confident had it been any other employee, a customer, god forbid a little kid; would have 100% been a lawsuit. Dont really "regret" not seeking advice at the time, just think sometimes when im getting ready to go to work, what if.. lol thanks for any perspective. Can post a pic of, but didnt know if that would be a little much ????????‍♂️????????????
