Recovering Money That I Have Leant Out.

hi, i wanted some advice. i leant a friend of mine 25,000 over 6 months with the promise of him paying me back the 25,000 with interest. at the time i got him to send me an email with the terms of the agreement, and there was no signature attached. i also have plenty of messaging correspondance from his facebook account openly saying that he will pay me back the money on this date etc. for context, it is past the 6 months and he has yet to pay.

i was wondering if i was to go down any legal route, do i have anything to stand on?
