Received Okc Turnpike Invoice But Never Been To Oklahoma
The mailed invoice has my vehicle plates and vin. Its a bill for under $10 which I would usually pay without blinking. But I've never been to OKC (nor has the vehicle in question), Ive never been on a toll road in my own state, let alone Oklahoma! I've got plenty of evidence and eye witness that I was not on that toll road at the specified times. The invoice says they will place a hold on my vehicle registration for non-payment. Does that registration hold apply to my registered state of CO as well?
Theres also an on-going smishing scam for toll roads, so I am extremely hesitant to provide any personal or bank info to anyone demanding money for a toll I did not use.
Any legal advice how I can get this resolved while protecting myself from being (further) scammed?
