[colorado] Ex-husband Hasn’t Made Payments For 6 Months On A House In Both Our Names
(Please forgive the flair, I didn’t see one that would pertain to me, so i picked the closest. I’m also on my phone)
I separated from my ex in February of 2020, divorce was finalized in September 2020. I have not lived in that house since February, so four years now.
I kept begging him to help me get my name off, but he kept saying that his credit score alone wasn’t enough and that if I took my name off, he wouldn’t be able to afford it.
That being said, now I received a notice saying my house was in foreclosure. I checked public records and it says “NED Recorded.” After calling around, it seems he hasn’t paid in 6 months.
Now, I don’t want to get into the finer details. It was not an amicable divorce, I could not and still cannot afford any form of lawyer. I called the loan company (ShellPoint) and they said they cannot take my name off now that it’s in foreclosure.
Is there any way to fight this? My credit is going to be ruined. It’ll be there for 10 years. I don’t know what to do.
