Professional Photo Ruined By Predatory Towing, Which Almost Ends In Arrest!

My vehicle was parked in a public parking area, without any posted signs or parking restrictions, and was towed. The entire situation was extremely shady for the following reasons:

my vehicle was out of our sight for less than 10 minutes!

A bystander knew my vehicle's identifiable information and the tow company's information including the phone number, almost as if he was a commissioned or paid employee that was undercover.

Immediately we made contact with tow company's owner to ensure they had my vehicle and confirm what documents they required to release the vehicle. My photographer explained that we were from out of state and that my electronics, forms of payment and phones were all inside my vehicle; essentially leaving my child and me stranded. We agreed to head there directly to pay the bill and requested the address; then informed them of our eta, which was 20 minutes. I was so scared and begged the photographer to stay with us until I could retrieve my truck; luckily he agreed!

upon arrival the gates were closed and locked so we reached our to the tow company., the owner acted as if he didn't realize it was closed and promised to send someone there immediately. After 45 minutes had passed, I contacted the owner for an eta and was informed "I don't have an eta, you will have to wait until a tow truck comes back." my daughter and I were stranded in an abandoned parking lot in the ghetto so I offered to pay "whatever you want" just please come and let me get my vehicle, approximately 30 minutes later they arrive.

We head inside and the employee directed me to retrieve my documentation from the vechile. My daughter and I head to my vehicle she climbs inside to change and wait in our vehicle while I retrieve documents, form of payment and phone. I take the requested document and payment back to the employee. At this point I'm positive we should be headed home in a matter of minutes; Boy, oh Boy, I couldn't be more wrong!

Long story short my vehicle is a company vehicle that is owned by a single member llc. I gave the employee the articles of incorporation, fein, lease, insurance card and license they wouldn't release it! they claimed "anybody could manufacture those documents" I called my husband who sent his license too, again we were denied! I provided 2 year old emails that were back and forth from our attorney regarding the formation and structure of our company but was still denied! the tow company wanted my husband to drive 5 hours to get the vehicle, which wouldn't have been a problem but, it was 730pm and we were stranded! They the requested a notarized letter from my husband. ok, Since it's 8pm and it would be impossible to find a notary, I asked if my husband could drive to our local police station to write and sign the letter, essentially using the police resources to verify his identity; then have the police fax said letter to them. The employee refused and informed my child and I we would have to exit our vehicle and stand outside the gate until my husband could get a notarized letter.

Now I had attempted to work with them every way possible but they were determined to risk our safety while they kept my vehicle that they still had not even explained why they towed it! I called the cops, I mean they took an oath to protect and serve, right?!?!

Well they were completely useless! I informed them if my dire situation and asked for them if they could help us, we didn't have a way or anywhere to go. the younger officer replied " if you have money to get your vehicle out, you can Uber 1 way home!" they then instructed me to get my items from the truck and leave the lot! As we were gathering our items I broke down because I was scared for our safety; when all of a sudden, my husband came through with the notarized letter! my daughter ran over to the cops and showed it to them, which forced the tow company to release our vehicle!

SHADIEST PART OF ALL......

THE FOLLOWING DAY I GOOGLED THE ADDRESS THE TOW COMPANY STATED MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM AND IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHERE MY TRUCK WAS PARKED!

What, if anything, can I do????
