Police Refuse To Arrest Felon Neighbor Who Pulls Weapons On Us.

LA, CA. One of my neighbors is a registered felon in California and Texas for domestic terrorist threats and violence. He has spent time in prison in both states, most recent release being in 2021 which is when he moved to my neighborhood. I know this as factual because I was given his name, birthday and information when he threatened to kill me and police were involved. I was given the information to file a restraining order.

He has clear mental health issues and has threatened to kill almost everyone in the neighborhood at one point or another, thrown glass bottles at us and our kids/houses/cars and blares loud music throughout the night. He has been a complete terror for years. Cops are constantly called and refuse to do anything. Most recently, he has resorted to pulling a gun out and pointing it at several of my neighbors including children, under 10 years old. LAPD has been called twice on this issue and will not arrest him, stating the best we can do are file restraining orders.

I don't understand why they can't do anything. At minimum, he is a felon in the state and cannot own a firearm, so I have NO clue how they refuse to at LEAST arrest him for that. We all have security cameras and clear video footage of him pointing a gun at his direct neighbors inlcuding their young child and LAPD will not act in any way. What can we do? At this point, most of us are terrified of alerting the police in fear of being targeted and killed. They own their home (no idea how) so no landlord/ eviction process can be made.
