Neighbors Violated Easement And Septic Permit Was Revoked, No Path Forward (montana)
I purchased a property in Montana on a small lake lot in 2023. There was an easement on the neighbors property for our drainfield. The easement does not specific a specific location. We were aware the drainage field was located somewhere on the neigbhor's property potentially on their lightly used driveway when we purchased and were told the neighbors would be responsible for the cost of any maintenance.
We recently applied for permits with the county and they discovered that the neighbors had built a driveway over the septic field and immediately revoked our permit. After the county revoked our permit, we have found there is no septic system available on our lot or the neighbors that's would satsify legal requirements. Essentially we have no path forward to get a replacement.
What should we do?
