Neighbor Damaged Well

My parents have lived in their house for over twenty years and the whole time we have had a well in the field behind our house. The field is my parents’ property. There is a small business operating out of the barn next door. The owner of that business was clearing trees from the field between our properties and pushed them onto ours with his tractor.

While he was on our property, the business owner decided he would level a “hill” on our property. That “hill” was our well. He drove his tractor into it and damaged the inside of the well. We can no longer drink the water in our house and the water that comes out of the tap is filthy.

What can we do to get him to cover the damages? Could I pursue this even though I am not the owner of the well/property?
