My Current Bf’s Ex Girlfriend Sent Out My Nudes

Card image cap

This is an embarrassing situation for me, but I could use all the advice I can get. I’ve been in a relationship with my current bf for over a year now and a few months ago, his ex girlfriend sent a nude image of myself (that I sent to my bf through Snapchat) to all of his friends, his family, and my family.

To give some context to this, in the summertime his Snapchat account had gotten hacked. I’m talking like hacked hacked, someone not only locked him out of his account, but they initiated convos with everyone in his contact list, changed his avatar, and saved his photos. One of the photos that was saved was a nude I sent him privately.

At the time, all Snapchat gave him was the IP address of who logged in, which we included in a police report to the Chicago police (where we both live). The report was denied and we weren’t told why. Devastated that I knew this photo had been saved, we decided to instead put it past us and move on with our lives—hoping it would never get out to anyone unintended to see it.

Fast forward to February (after Valentines Day), his ex girlfriend was snooping on his tik tok account and to my surprise, mine as well. I, however, didn’t see this activity on my account until I logged back in nearly a month later. This wasn’t the first time his ex was caught trying to stalk us, as previously she attempted multiple times to follow me on various social media platforms and I would always deny them. This time really struck a nerve, I was tired of her harassment so I spoke up and told her to leave us alone, that he was with me now and she needed to back off.

This didn’t sit well with her, and her and her friends proceeded to threaten me online. I thought that was going to be the extent of it, but it got so much worse. In the matter of an hour, she looked up my address, drove to my house, called my moms number to threaten her also, and then proceeded to share my nude photo (which I thought I’d never have to worry about again) to everyone previously mentioned.

I have already reported this to the police since Illinois has laws protecting against this, but I feel like more needs to be done. I’m currently out of state for school and she also threatened to send it to my Dean. On top of it all, she works at a car dealership in Chicago and has fraudulently set up appointments under my boyfriends name. Any advice on what I should do is greatly appreciated. It truly sickens me that people like this exist.

(PS: all people involved are over 18)
