Move Over Law

I got pull over by a state trooper when I was going home from Audi in Morristown, TN. He was pulling over another driver on the right emergency lane and the light was on, I'm a new driver (just got my license last October) so I was a bit ignorant about the move over law (nobody in my family told me about it nor did I ever saw it when I was studying for my drive license (Probably I wasn't looking hard enough)) So as an idiot I was, I drove pass him and was Immediately followed after. He gave me a ticket for a move over violation (the ticket dont mention anything about speeding or reckless driving but I do a little research online and saw that the move over law falls into the reckless driving category)and now I'm scared to death because I saw that it's a Class B misdemeanor that can be put forever in my criminal record, not to mention the 6 point added to my driving record and the fine. I acknowledge that it's my fault and will take extra precautions from now on but is there anyway that I can do to reduce that point and prevent that ticket to be put in my criminal record? Can I go to a defensive drive course to help reduce it? Please help.
