Mortgage And Foreclosure After My Wife's Death.

Card image cap

In 2007 when we bought our house. She was the sole person on the loan. I don't know if I was on the deed or not, I imagine I was, but I do not know. My wife pasted away in 2017. My house is in foreclosure. I am unable to assume the loan. I have exhausted all my options and came to accept that I will lose my house. When I spoke to lawyers and the mortgage companies themselves. The thought of Bankruptcy and Restraining orders were floated out. But because I was never on the loan, I was told that the neither would work. I was also told that because I was never on the loan and I didn't assume the loan, after the auction whatever happens has no repercussions on me financially as in I wouldn't be responsible if the auction sold lower than what is owed. I just want to know if that's true or will I be liable in someway?
