I Was Doxxed On A Revenge Porn Site And Not Sure How To Proceed

Hello, I’m an educator in Oklahoma and long story short (I’ll do my best) I was recently doxxed on a revenge porn site.

Last week, I got a text from a random number asking if it was me and I didn’t respond. When I didn’t respond, they messaged me on Facebook under a random name with a couple private images of me (that I immediately recognized from my hidden Snapchat folder). The texter texted me immediately after messaging me on facebook and said, “It’s important”. I still didn’t respond but I deleted all of my images on Snapchat (after I was unable to delete my account per Snapchat - it’s been a nightmare trying to get a hold of them).

Later that evening, I (and a couple other colleagues) received an email to my work email with the same pictures and a link to a revenge porn site where all of my hidden images were posed and I was doxxed in the comments. I was able to issue a DMCA takedown notice and my page was down a day later, but it has been a nightmare dealing with the falling out.

I think I know who might have done this and I’ve done a bit of sleuthing myself, but it feels like a bigger beast than I can handle. What are my rights? How far can I take this? Does Snapchat have any fault in this as the “My Eyes Only” feature is supposed to be inaccessible without my pin?

I have so many questions. I feel humiliated and afraid. My greatest fear is that students or families get a hold of these private images. I should mention that I’ve filed a police report and made contact with a paralegal through a group that does pro bono work for victims of revenge porn (although she’s out of office until tomorrow and I’m just sitting here on pause wondering how much energy to put into this).
