Dad Took 19k That Was To Be Utilized For A Car Purchase & Wont Give It Back

My dad’s been a narcissist abusive prick his entire life, so honestly it’s on me for trusting him. But last year, my car was hit by a drunk driver and totaled right around the time I discovered I needed a major surgery & my ex boyfriend decided to break up with me. I was not in a place to handle deciding what car to pick, and my dad does know cars & my mom kept pushing to “let them help me” (lol). They weren’t drinking, they kept promising they were “better”, found Jesus, whatever. So I sent them the money and gave them control of payments to lease a car because I didn’t want to deal with it.
A year later and my dad is “mad” at me so he’s stopping car payments and insurance (they told me they would handle both) but he refuses to give me my money back that should be leftover. My mom says they have it but she put it into stocks or something for her retirement (idk) and she “can’t pull it out without his permission.” I have texts of her admitting she has my money and won’t send it to me. She also said something about how the car is “in my father’s name” so I cant do anything about it? I’m not sure because I signed a lease (I’m working on getting a copy) but they’re sketchy as fuck. They’ve been abusive and terrible my whole goddamn life and they caught me in a weak moment and got me to trust them again. I feel like a fucking idiot but I need this money back especially since I’m expecting this whole experience to tank my fucking credit (if it is in my name) because my dad WILL make it as difficult as possible for me to get this car thing figured out. He also knows I’m pregnant and basically homeless right now and doesn’t give a single shit about any of the shit I’m dealing with, just wants to make it fucking harder on me because he started drinking again & suddenly I’m “his asshole daughter” again.
