Landlord's Wife Admitted They Didn't Pay Taxes On The House We Are Renting And Are Pressuring Us To Move Out.

Location: Delaware Hello everyone. My partner and I are in a very weird situation, we've been renting a house from someone for the past two years in Delaware that we were suddenly over the summer told we had to move out from ASAP. In the process of finding a place, we were told by our landlord's wife that the landlord had been committing tax evasion with our rent money and that their fear of being punished for it is why we were told to leave. This has been told to my partner over text.

The new place we rented also has a roach infestation, that we were not made aware of, on top of it not having any power and both my partner and I are disabled and suffering very badly from this.

We feel very cheated and lied to through multiple processes and have no idea where to even start or what kind of legal counsel to seek, if we even can at all for this situation. I suppose the questions are: Is there anything that can be done legally to allow us to continue living on the property? And as we signed the lease for that other apartment how would we go about getting removed from it due to the surprise infestation and lack of power?
