I Need An Animal Law Advice
7 months ago, I bought a cat together with my fiancee. I paid for the cat, I always took him to veterinary which I paid, and I have been always the contact of the breeder. My fiancee bought him some food and treats (me too) and I can say she loves him almost as much as I do. We decided to have my fiancee as the owner on the official ownership papers. Why? Because I thought it was a lovely gesture from me.
Recently my fiancee broke our engagement because she was seeing another man. When I discovered it, I decided to cancel our apartment contract in antibes and I will move to another country where I have a home and a job next month. She doesn’t have a job, a contract for rent, or a car to care about the cat but she wants to keep the cat to make me suffer. - she thinks it is unfair from me to leave her with nothing even though she cheated on me.
Is there any possibility to have the cat? I need to have my name on the papers and travel with the cat abroad next month.
The cat is French. None of us is French.
