I’m Being Sued By State Farm For Personal Injury Please Help
This is my first ever lawsuit I’m only 24. I haven’t even been served yet I kept getting advertisement letters from lawyer officers claiming I’ve been sued and I thought it was a joke or a scam at first. Then I received a letter from my lawyer (my insurance hired an attorney from me) and I called him. I was in accident last September where it was my fault, I was coming out making a left turn and didn’t estimate enough time and turned too fast and basically the lady was coming straight down. I almost had enough time but at the last second, she couldnt break hard enough and ended up hitting my back driver side where the doors are. My car spun a little bit and we had to move our cars to the gas station because we were blocking traffic. I apologized to her and said sorry, she told me it’s okay I know it’s not on purpose. We exchanged info and she didn’t call the police nor ambulance, I left. I have full coverage and my policy is up to $55k. My insurance paid her out and fixed her damages. I’m just so scared, I don’t know what to do. I’m a single mom I have a 2 year old, I don’t wanna go to jail. It was an accident, I was deemed at fault and I’m guessing she wants more money from me? I don’t have a lot of money, I live at home w my parents and I’m on government assistance. But my lawyer said I’m fine and that I have insurance so it’s fine, and to call him once I’ve been served.
