How Do I Find An Attorney For An Adult Birth Certificate Issue?
Hi! I am an adult. My father's name on my birth certificate is wrong. He wasn't around when I was born and my mom put his American nickname on the birth certificate, not his actual name. The actual name is literally nothing like the nickname, so it doesn't just look like a clerical error. I was born in a state that I do not live in. And my dad lives in a different state entirely. I tried reaching out to the vital records department several times to see if we could fix it, but they weren't able to help. I have reached out to a few attorneys and I never get a reply back. I really don't know what to do and there are some important reasons for me to fix the birth certificate (obtaining dual citizenship is the big one). I would love to know what type of attorney to hire and in which state I should hire them. I'm really struggling. I appreciate any advice and guidance! Thank you!
