Help With Elder Abuse Case

Card image cap

Location: California

My mom (88) has a temporary restraining order against my brother. They were living together at her house for about a year and a half. He is there rent free and was neglectful, so we had to hire caregivers to be there since he was absent and drunk most days. She is currently living with me and my family for her wellbeing. He is currently still staying there and is attempting to move in a family of 4 without her permission. He has moved in multiple people in the past, also with no permission. He has yelled and berated her to the level where APS was called by a care the giving agency. He is also insisting that our mom has dementia and is mentally incompetent (a recent neurologist visit says otherwise) and claims that means that he can do what he wants as the son. We have been documenting as much as possible. We are getting a lawyer soon for the restraining order and eviction court case, but we don't know what type of lawyer to look for.

Is there any advice for things we should have ready to present or to remember? And for the lawyer, what type do we need? The temporary order was done under elder abuse, but the eviction aspect is more important. Thank you!
