Family Member Keeps Driving My Unlicensed, Uninsured Vehicle

Hello!

This will probably be long and convoluted so I apologize in advance.

My grandmother recently passed away. She left me her car. My name is on the title with hers. She adopted me when I was much younger so I am legally her daughter, and I am being included in discussions about her estate.

My aunt (her actual daughter) keeps insisting my grandma wanted her and her husband to have her car instead (along with everything else it seems). I am not planning on keeping it because I have my own car. She has asked me to buy it after the sale of my grandma’s house, which I said sure to, although I do not trust her (for multiple reasons I will not get into here).

The problem is, she keeps driving it without my permission. It is not insured and she told me the breaks are bad/it will not pass inspection. She’s acting like the car is already hers. I don’t have anywhere to keep it because I live at an apartment complex with limited parking. I’m both pissed off and worried that something is going to happen to the car while it is legally mine. What liabilities do I need to worry about? I don’t even have the title on me, I think it is still in the car. I want to take it but I’m afraid I will make her angry and she’s not someone you want to anger. Is there anything I can do or should do in this case?
