Divorcing Husband Threatens To Run Up Our Joint Credit Card

My husband has decided he wants a divorce. Last night he said he refuses to live under the same roof as me and I have 2 days to get out of the house. He is staying at a hotel and putting it on the joint credit card. Am I liable for those hotel charges?

Some information:

  • I’m only an authorized user on the joint card
  • I moved into the spare bedroom and explicitly told him I don’t agree to pay for his hotel
  • We have split everything in the house 50/50 for the past 6 and some years we’ve been living together

Any advice or plans of action I need to take?
