Truck Was Stolen Out Of A “secure” Compound

For context I’m an Operations Manager for a Biohazard Remediation company, it’s a 24/hour job.

On Monday the 15th at 0145 in the morning my truck was stolen from the storage unit my company rents for our equipment. The thieves then used my truck to steal things from other people’s campers and etc. I’ve already done a police report and spoke to insurance. The reason the criminals were able to enter the place was due to the gate being open for the hundredth time due to a “malfunction “. This isn’t a one off incident of the gate being open. Nobody was notified of the gate , when we noticed my truck was stolen on Tuesday, they decided to close the office early and not monitor the after hours call line.

My boss recommended I sue for negligent security, should i?
