Can Leader Of Apartments Fine You For Your Apartment Being “dirty”
So I put in a work order for my fridge bc it was leaking underneath to where the sub floor came up also bc our ac went out they came in and not long after they left I got a call front the office saying that they was going to fine us a housekeeping fee and that we were also going to have to pay for the damage of the water leak under the fridge bc it happened bc we don’t clean and I will say this there was dirty dishes in our sink and there was tore up paper our dog tore up the night before that I forgot about and there was a pack of eggs and seasonings on the counters, I have a son and he’s 2months im not going to use him as an excuse but he comes first before anything I don’t let him scream and cry his head off just so I can wash dishes im not that type of mom but anyways the maintenance guy came in and took pics of the mess the lady said I read the lease and I don’t see anything where it says they can fee us for housekeeping only where it says if odors are coming from our apartment to where other tenants and guests can smell then they can fee us but can anyone help me out with this?
