Can I Take Someone To Small Claims Court For Owing Me $468 In Babysitting Services?

For context, I was asked by the father since he’s an old friend from high school to watch his 1 or so year old daughter. he has her most of the time so he worked it out with the mother that she would pay. I’m CPR certified, and I know I provide better care than a daycare because im solely focused on her and I do the most to make sure she’s well taken care of. I’ve babysat her for 6 sessions now, and I charge 11/hr. I’m aware that’s way lower than I should be charging in the first place but for his sake I’m trying to help out. I watch her from 5:30am to 1:30, and I only charge for 7 hours. His baby momma verbally consented in our text messages agreeing to the pay rate may 22. We settled on a weekly payment on Wednesdays, and I still haven’t received a penny. She’s using excuses saying her check won’t clear but she’s been saying that for the last week and half the time she ignores me. The father texted her mother, she asked “why do yall even need a sitter?” and that’s when we learned she’s only been working 20 hours a week not the 5 days we were informed of and the rest of her time is spent running around with some dude. I threatened to take her to small claims court this Wednesday on Sunday night and now I gotta stand on business I guess. My question is will this go over in court well and do you think I’ll ever receive some form of payment? What if I file the claim and then she decides to pay me?
