Can I Sue My Obgyn For Medical Malpractice?

I'm based in California. I am 5 weeks pregnant.
Nurse practitioner from OB office had an over-the-phone orientation with me prior to my first in-clinic visit.
I never expressed health concerns that would merit this prescription, but she prescribed me aspirin, a prenatal containing 28 mg of iron, and an additional 65mg of iron tablets to take TWICE daily.
No bloodwork was performed before this prescription was issued. She said the iron "prevents autism" which is absolutely ridiculous IMO as an individual who has worked in special education.
I am a first time mom so I took the medication as directed. I began experiencing fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, and stomach pain. I started taking less iron and spoke to poison control and my pharmacist.
Pharmacist said that the max amount of iron for a pregnant woman is 27 mg contained in the prenatal.
He informed me that there is absolutely no reason for me to be taking more iron especially if my OBGYN didn't do bloodwork prior to issuing this prescription.
I spoke with my OB prior to contacting the pharmacist and she said "most pregnant women are anemic." I was prescribed a high dosage of iron prior to her even assessing or proving if I was in fact anemic. Meaning, she made this decision without any necessity drawn from my medical history.
She said that this level of iron is not high at all which contradicts what poison control and the pharmacist told me.
The pharmacist told me my baby is at risk of spontaneous abortion and preterm labor.
