Can I Actually Get In Trouble For Theft From Something I Acquired For Free At An Auction?

Went to an auction on Saturday, bought a few things. After the auction was over the auctioneer told us most everything else was just up for grabs. He specifically said that everything in the barn needed to go. We spent hours searching through this barn and eventually found some vintage doors and flooring. We brought a trailer back on Sunday and again spent several HOURS hauling this stuff out of the attic/hayloft of this old barn. Monday morning i wake up to a facebook post on the town group saying the floors had already been “spoken for” and asking for their return “no questions asked” i put pretty much no thought into it because i was like, Well, sorry i got to the free stuff before you? there was no signage anywhere. That entire attic looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. On monday night my aunt send me an instagram story of a minor influencer (the same person who made the facebook post) claiming the floors were promised to her by the owner of the house and they’re originally from her house and so on. Then she says SHE FILED A POLICE REPORT!
Not sure what to do now. Obviously there was a miscommunication somewhere. I don’t have the sentimental attachment to the floors she seems to have and i’m willing to give them back but I don’t want it labeled as theft and coming back to bite me. What do I do?
