Can A Landlord Force You To Use Wireless In Nc?

Renewed lease and about a month later our apartment management company changed internet providers and converted the entire complex to a new internet provider (fiber optic with wireless throughout community). They are saying you have to use all wireless internet but I have equipment (thousands of dollars worth of equipment) that requires a hardwired connection for my work. Can they seriously just say "Well I guess you can't use that stuff anymore" or are they just not knowledgeable about IT so they are making a blanket decision. Just doesn't seem right but it is North Carolina and renters have few to no rights. Thanks for the help!
