Brother Being Evicted After 11 Years In Wv.

Card image cap

My brother received an eviction notice from the sheriff's department Monday. My bother has been living in a mobile home on my uncles land for the past 11 years. There was near a lease or and written agreement but our uncle said he could live there as long has he wanted. When my brother first moved there the mobile home was not in livable condition and needed a lot of work. My brother didn't feel comfortable putting work into something that wasn't his and offered to trade some kitchen cabinets for the home. My uncle agreed (not in writing but was witnessed by our father). At this point in time no one had a title for the mobile home. After this my brother, father and uncle worked on the home. They also added a water tap, ran water line and installed a septic tank.

Fast forward to today. My uncle's son has taken over control of his assets and and are claiming ownership of the mobile home. They claim to have the title but no one has seen it yet. The eviction noticed that was received stated that he was given an oral notice on March 1st but that never happened.

Any advice would be appreciated. He goes before a magistrate tomorrow.
