Bitten By A Dog While Delivering

I was doing a delivery for a house and had walked halfway up the driveway when I saw one german shepherd run across the driveway and into the trees on the property (the area I was delivering in was somewhere out in the country). Then I saw another German shepherd bark and start running towards me, the bark did not seem like it was an aggressive one and I kind of stayed in place because I did not think the dog was going to attack me(I know it was stupid on my part) not only that but both dogs had a collar with an antenna like thing sticking out of them and the owner was right behind them not really moving urgently. I assumed that with the collars and him not really running to get his dogs that maybe he had a invincible fence or those were shock collars. The dog then barked at me when it was in front of me and ran behind me to bite the back of my thigh. The owner still didint really seem bothered by it and just called for his dogs said sorry and went back into his house with his dogs. I went to urgent care after work and the dog bite is swollen to the size of a tennis ball, I did have some bleeding but it just seemed like the bite is surface level with some bruising. I did not need any rabies shot or antibiotics since the physician said about 80% of dog bites heal on their own. As of right now I cannot sit down or do any driving as my right thigh hurts badly. I’ve filed a police report and the urgent care visit should be covered by workers comp but I have people telling me I should file a claim against the owner. I don’t know if I should do that or just let it go because the dog was just doing its job protecting its home but at the same time I am bothered that the owner did not handle his dogs properly.
