Beneficiary But Denied Any Details

So, I am a beneficiary on a trust. It was set up after my uncle passed in June 2022. My mother was his POA. Prior to my grandmother’s passing, there was a trust established for his care with the proceeds from the sale of her home. He did work limited hours and received SSI. I am NC with my parents for various reasons, and was only told about the trust in 2023, a few months before going NC in early 2024. I was told to wait to file my taxes because I needed a form involving the taxes on the dividends, so I waited file my taxes until October. I also never received the form (a Schedule-K 1041). My father claimed the trust covered the taxes so it wasn’t needed. The form does say $0.00 in all categories.

I checked my 2022 wage and income transcript and it appears my dad filed it with his taxes, under my SS number, but maiden name, which does make sense, because my grandmother passed a few years before my spouse and I were married.

My father stated I would not be able to access the money without him approving what it was for. and that it was “for my future” Mind you, I’m over 30x I’ve asked about it twice and briefly mentioned I wanted to use it towards a house purchase/moving expenses. He said no, so I just gave up.

I looked it up on the county website and his will was probated. My grandmothers was not. My uncle was married and his wife, who I have never met is listed as the fiduciary. She didn’t get along with my mother, and I’ve never met her. My mom did remain his POA. Two questions

1) Does this count as an asset?

2) Would going to the courthouse to review the will give me any information?

At this point I don’t even want the money, but am curious about the terms and conditions.

I also want to make sure it won’t impact me in any way negatively, no matter how.
