[tx] Roommate Is Getting Dog Despite My Known Allergies, Including Anaphylaxis.

I’ve been a subletter for 6 months, with no written lease or contract. I’ve been paying my roommate through venmo for rent & utilities with no issue.

However, they told me that they were getting a dog & if approved the dog would be coming home. I wasn’t asked if I was comfortable, but I did tell them I am concerned about my allergies since I have asthma, eczema, and am on a biological medication for symptom control. I’ve gone into anaphylactic shock twice before from dogs that were considered hypoallergenic.

I’m wondering if I should just go ahead and move out before the dog gets here so I don’t run the risk of getting sick & if so, can my roommate take me to small claims court?

Also wondering if I should not pay next months rent since I will most likely be moving and having to pay a deposit and first months rent at my new place & can’t afford the financial burden due to my roommate being inconsiderate.
