A memorial service will hold at 1pm on Saturday the 9th of January at Trinity Assembly of God

There will be an interdenominational service of songs on the 18th of January 2016 at the Augusto field opposite No. 9 Augusto Close, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.

Obasi's body leaves Lagos State for Agbonta, Amaokwe, Item, Bende LGA, Abia State via Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri on Friday, 22nd January, 2016. This will be followed by a service of songs on the same day at his Family Compound.

The funeral service will take place at the Methodist Church, Amaokwe, Item on the 23rd of January,2016 and Mr Obasi Uzoechi Ogan will be laid to rest, following the service, at his family compound.

Obasi's family and the Methodist Church will conduct a thanksgiving service on Sunday, the 24th of January, 2016 at the Methodist Church Amaokwe, Item.

The Story

Obasi, Prof and Dean, Uzoechi Ogan was born on April 7, 1959 in Ibadan to Okoronkwo and Oyidia Ogan.
He loved sports. As a young man he was an avid table tennis player and in his later years he never missed a chance to catch his favourite team play a football match on tv.
A husband, father, brother, cousin,uncle and friend to many, Obasi was warm, full of life and had a great sense of humour. His bear hugs were second to none. He did not discriminate. Everyone was welcome in his home. He expressed love freely and was loved by all.
Obasi slept in the Lord on the 5th of December 2015. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
