Mathena was born September 25, 1952 in Gary, Indiana to Ernestine and Matthew Moore.
She attended Gary's Schools. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband Beaver, her parents, Ernestine and Matthew Moore, 3 sisters, Alberta Moore, Tonda Moore, and Saudia Poole, 1 brother, Allen Ellis. She leaves to cherish in her loving memory 4 kids, Latersa Moore, Mia Martin, Jerry Martin, and Nadia Beaver, 13 grandkids, 5 sisters, Eartha, Veronica, Sybil, India, and Nakia, 3 brothers, Renaldo, John and Omar (Rico). Special cousin Mimi and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
