Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, MC,[3] commonly known as Mother Teresa (26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), was a Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary[4] who lived most of her life in India. She was born in what is today Macedonia, with her family being of Albanian descent originating in Kosovo.
The Story
She was the youngest of the children of Nikollë and Dranafile Bojaxhiu (Bernai).[18] Her father, who was involved in Albanian politics, died in 1919 when she was eight years old.[15][19] Her father may have been from Prizren, Kosovo while her mother may have been from a village near Gjakova.[20]
