Liane and her 8 year old sister were among 44 children from Izieu. Their parents were refugees in Rivesaltes. They were handed to the SS in Vichy an deported on convoy 33 on September 16, 1942. Their oldest brother Siegfried was killed in 1942 at age 11 while trying to cross the Swiss border. The two girls were deported on April 13, 1944 among other children to Auschwitz and were murdered in the gas chamber a couple days later.
