The Story

It is with great sorrow that we share news of the death of James E. Lockhart, our loving son, brother and friend who died September 13, 2022 at his Norman, OK home, after a brief illness.
James was born August 14, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas, living in Arlington with his parents and sisters though completion of his kindergarten year. The family moved to Norman, Oklahoma when James started first grade and he remained a lifelong Norman resident, with brief periods of residence in Boulder, Salt Lake City, and San Marcos. James loved music, OU and Dallas Cowboys football, NASCAR, outdoor adventures, travelling the US and sharing new experiences, but he always returned home to Norman. After graduation from Norman High School, he became a certified security specialist, trained in event safety management and high-profile personal security, working hundreds of music and other events for prominent clients around the U.S. He also had long term positions with Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah and Alamon Telecom SW region in Texas.
James was devoted to his family, his dogs and many close friends, but considered his role as 'Uncle' to be his most-rewarding priority. Family was the most important thing in the world to James and he fiercely protected his family members and those close friendships he considered to be family. Lucky recipients of one of his famous hugs knew just how much he treasured and loved them. To say. 'James will be missed by many' is a painfully inadequate statement.
James is survived by his mother Paula Lockhart of Murphy, TX; his sisters Betty Nieczyporowicz (Leon) of Plano, TX, Susan Davis (Roy) of Plano, TX, and Janice Roy (Brett) of Flower Mound, TX; his nieces Haley Davis, Noel Nieczyporowicz and Kara Nieczyporowicz, and his nephews Kyle Davis and Victor Nieczyporowicz; and his sweet dog Dasher. He is preceded in death by his father, Ron Lockhart, his grandparents, and his beloved dogs, Chili and George.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary of Norman, OK.

Dear Friends,
Please use this forum to share your memories, photos and stories of James with us and each other. He was an honorable man who taught us to persevere through the most brutal of life's moments, even when the road ahead was dark and the sunshine/hope was difficult to see. James was always searching for that sunshine, he never gave up. His message to us today would be that we love and cherish each other, never ever get so discouraged that we give up, and work together to build new friendships with each other to find our sunshine. We will be visiting this site often to share new photos, videos and stories and keeping the memory of James alive. This may have been God's timing, but James was not done caring for us, and we still had many plans left in our hearts for him.
Love and warmest thanks,
Paula, Betty, Susan, Janice and the entire Lockhart family.

Footnote: Enjoy the music attached....this is a short list of a very long amount of James's favorites that I started with. Please feel free to attach your own songs that were the soundtrack to your best times with James. I know he's excited to see what you'll choose to share. Betty
