Won ~40k Online Contest On Twitter, Never Received Prize. What's The Statute Of Limitations?

In 2022, I won a major (about 40k value) contest on Twitter (big company, prominent owner), but never received the prize. I was ignored, lied to, etc. I'm both poor and severely disabled, and got deeply depressed and disillusioned by what happened, so I haven't been able to pursue it legally yet. After a few months of trying to get them to award it with posts/email/etc, I was physically and mentally unable to continue.

I was living in California at the time I entered and should've won the contest, I'm living in Illinois now. I have a few questions and I'd greatly appreciate any help on this.

How would this case be classified (i.e. fraud, etc), and which state's laws would apply?

Would the statute of limitations clock start when I entered the contest, when the contest ended, or when I stopped contacting them or they last replied?

How would I get help with pursuing this? I'm of very limited means and ability and very lacking in knowledge about this sort of thing.

Is there anything else I haven't thought of that I should know?

Thank you for any info you folks can give. :)

EDIT: It wasn't a random winner contest. It required giving the correct answer to a question. Only I answered it correctly before the correct answer was announced and the contest ended.
