Wife's Dad Just Passed Away With No Will And Her Aunt Is Claiming All His Property(car Guns Cell Phone Everything). What Can We Do In Pennsylvania?
Her dad passed on Monday of last week. He had a life insurance policy which had his sister as the beneficiary to pay for the burial cost. She took it upon herself to ignore the wishes of my wife and her sister even tho they are the only remaining children he had. Steamrolled the services and wanted it family only tho the man had many friends and acquaintances who wanted to pay their respects as he was a fireman. Then proceeded to tell the man's daughters that they didn't have the right to any of his things because they were hers it was her brother and she was keeping it. Not to mention the fact he lived with a woman for 40 years and she won't let her have a thing either. I'm blown away and google says this isn't right but I wanted some input before I push my boundaries of social anxiety and make the call to some lawyers. Both of his daughters are worried they don't have rights and are suffering a great loss and just want to be helpful before stirring the pot and causing them more pain due to family drama.
