Coworker Spreading Rumors About My Husband - Under Hr Investigation

My husband 28M is under HR investigation, suspended with no pay.

A female coworker (A) has similar work boots to my husband (as do many people at a manual labor job). “A” was changing in the women’s bathroom with her work boots under the stall. Female coworker “B” walks in on her changing and sees what she thinks are my husbands boots in the stall. Coworker “B” storms out and tells EVERYONE that my husband was being a pervert in the women’s bathroom and was spying on the girls changing. They all believed her and told her to report it to HR.

The problem is that my husband was in the men’s bathroom at the time. There is no camera foot by the bathroom doors, so you can just see him walking in the direction of the bathrooms. However, she has ZERO proof that he was in the women’s bathroom other than coworker A’s boots.

What can my husband do in this instance? The girl that was changing (A) said that no one was in the bathroom with her, but everyone believes “B”. Please help.
