Victim Of A Hit And Run

Good Evening,

My insurance company and the cops didn't give me much to go off of. If anyone can give me advice on what happens next I'd appreciate it.

TLDR version

I went to a fast food joint tonight. There's a stop sign at one of the exits. I was at the stop sign when a truck backed into me and damaged my quarter panel and door. The driver exited the truck and attempted to assault me. I could smell the alcohol on the driver of the truck. Two motorcycle drivers were parked near the stop sign. They witnessed him try to assault me and the accident. The truck driver saw the two motorcycle drivers coming to help me, so he fled.

I have pictures of the license plate and driver. The cops took my info and said they looked up where he lived. I was told they would go to his house immediately to try and get him. The two motorcycle drivers told the cops what happened and said they'd testify if needed.

I called my insurance company and explained what happened. I do not have full coverage. Since the driver fled I don't know how to go about getting my car repaired. All I have right now is a police case number and the claim number from my insurance company.
