Usa Customs Seized My Legally Obtained Rx And Otc Medications.

I am a USA Citizen. I recently came back from vacation in Mexico. I had RX medication purchased in the USA, RX medication purchased in Mexico with a valid Rx (obtained at a hospital in Mexico), as well as OTC medications.
TLDR: USA Customs in Texas seized around $2000 total of my legally obtained RX and OTC medications simply because some of them were purchased in Mexico.
More info:
I did have 4 medications that fall under controlled substances. Again I didn’t buy them on the street corner, I had RXs for them and in appropriate quantities. I also had several RXs that are not controlled substances (ie. Zofran for nausea, albuterol inhaler for asthma, Toradol anti-inflammatory, Azrithomycin antibiotic, muscle Relaxer, etc) and OTC meds like Mucinex.
I had LESS than a 90 day supply on all medications. I did not have any illegal substances nor any street drugs. I didn’t have copies of my RXs because I didn’t know I needed them. I gave them to the pharmacists.
I realize I had a lot of medication however Im pregnant with twins, have an autoimmune condition, as well as other serious medical conditions. I have a severe cough that starts in the evening and if left untreated leads to me vomiting, urinating myself, and experiencing vaginal bleeding. It is crucial to keep my cough under control. I was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine by my OB doctor in the USA. I had ONE rx bottle, a 15 day supply with me. It was purchased in Mexico because my pharmacy here was out of stock.
Customs Agent said I did not have enough of any medication for an arrest, so they called the local police department. Local PD said they didn’t want to arrest me but for some reason called DEA. DEA also said they didn’t want to arrest me. Local PD still confiscated almost all of my medications and denied access to the one I needed most at that moment.
I was left sitting in a room for hours violently coughing until I started bleeding from my vagina. I was handcuffed to a metal bench and separated from my 7 year old daughter for no reason. They said they were going to arrest me but never did. I missed my flight of course. And ended up having to be taken to the hospital via ambulance from Customs to be evaluated for the bleeding.
They took my phone and watch despite me explaining that I need to remain 20 feet from my phone for medically necessary continuous glucose monitoring from my dexcom. They did not let me make any calls to family members to inform them of whereabouts.
It was a nightmare and felt very corrupt. The agents were aggressive and rude despite me staying calm & cooperating. Is it possible to sue a government agency for situations like mine? I know the likelihood of getting my medications back is slim, but is it possible if I try? Do I sue Dept of Homeland Security or the local PD or both? TIA
EDIT: The Local PD is the organization that actually confiscated my medications. Dept of Homeland Security at the airport is who detained me for over 5 hours, said they were going to arrest me but didn’t,and called local PD.
