Unclaimed Property Being Denied Because Of A Lack Of Evidence To Prove That Property Is Mine

I first apologize if this is not the place to post this. I am really lost and don’t know where to begin.

I have over 1 million dollars in the bank in 2013, when the bank closed my account due to inactivity. I was not able to receive any notifications since I moved out of the country in an emergency.

I am now trying to claim property from the state, but unclaimed property require that I provide evidence that the money is mine, some sort of paper trail, but it has been over 10 years, and neither the bank nor I have any sort of documentation that is “sufficient” enough to prove that it’s mine. Currently there’s nothing but my name to it.

I tried contacting the bank and they say that there is nothing that they can do. I tried providing evidence of me transferring money from other banks to the aforementioned one, and it’s still considered insufficient evidence.

I am really lost, since this money is for my life’s saving for retirement as well and my kids college tuitions, and I don’t know how to get it back.
