Sued For 8 Year Old Debt

Card image cap

In Tennessee I have a court date set for this Friday for a lawsuit brought on by Harpeth financial services llc. They are claiming its for a debt from 8 years ago. They stated it was a flex loan from advanced financial. The summons said i owed a certain amount and advanced said i owed aomething completely different. First off, I don't know what this is. I've used advanced Financials services over 10 years ago but to my knowledge did not leave any debt. I have never received anything from them. No call. No letter. Just this summons.

I'm reading that it's past the statute of limitations to sue me. I live wayyyyyyy out of state and can only attend by phone but the court says that Harpth Has to agree. They will most likely not agree because they want default judgment.

Is this past the statute and what should I do? They said the judge will call me on my court date and determine with Harperh if they will accept me being there on the phone. If they don't agree, I dont see them agreeing, what should i do?

Isn't it illegal to sue me this far out?
